Legend & formation
Dragon lore, written in stone.
If you’re fascinated by dragon lore, septarian is the stone for you. According to Malagasy legend, septarian stones are the fossilized remains of ancient dragons. The legend is purely mythical, and the formation theories are just as intriguing.
They suggest that during volcanic activity, sea life was trapped and perished, leaving its remains on the ocean floor. Over time, chemical reactions between the sediment and those remains formed mud balls. As the ocean receded, the mud balls dried out, shrank and cracked, creating the captivating patterns of septarian: a mesmerizing stone with a mythical aura, and a testament to nature’s artistry.
A stone of nurturing, transformation and insight.
Septarian is believed to encourage patience, confidence and emotional balance while providing calming, grounding energy. It is associated with the Root Chakra, supporting stability, inner strength and a deeper connection to the nurturing energy of the Earth.
Through the ages, crystals and stones have been collected and prized for their timeless beauty, their rich history and their spiritual and metaphysical properties. We believe in the mystical properties of crystals, though nothing we sell comes with a magical guarantee.
